Tips To Install 2 Light Wall Sconce

Connecting a 2 light wall sconce is not too different from installing a new sales outlet in a wall. The process also uses some of the same material. Consider the size of the wall light; To be sure you mount securely enough to the wall to handle the weight. A basic understanding of wiring and an assistant to get the cable through the wall is required. Most light up with all the screws and connector pieces to pair with the cable needs fixture.

Use a rule detector to determine the location of the wall rule closest to the desired location. Use a jigsaw or plaster hand saw to cut into the wall plate alongside the tab. Drill a hole up from the basement with a 3/4 inch drill in walls. Use a tape measure to accurately note the location of the wall from two directions in the room for wall light installation. Enter the basement to recreate these measurements and mark the whole location for drilling. Drill the hole for the electrical cable just below the box location.

Feed the power cable up hole in the wall and have an assistant fish it out of the hole with your fingers, pliers or an extended wire hanger. Break the punch-out bottom opening from the plastic junction box with a screwdriver and run the cable through it. Place the drawer through the hole in the wall, gently so as not to damage the plaster surrounding it. Connect the box to the pin through the incision hole with a drill to secure the angled screws already in the box. Be sure the front edge of the box is flush with the outer edge of the plaster.
